Trimester 3 Checklist

Third Trimester Checklist (28 – 41 weeks)

You’re finally on the home stretch, use this time to do your final bits and pieces to get organised and take some time for self-care.

Begin taking Proceive Pregnancy Trimester 3 Nutritional Supplement, it is specifically tailored to meet the nutritional requirements of this trimester.

MATERNITY LEAVE

Ensure you have completed & sent off your forms for maternity leave and informed your employer of your plans. Start winding down or handing over at work.

REST AND NUTRITION

Rest as much as possible, take breaks when you can, especially if you are working. Eat ‘little and often’, ensuring to keep hydrated.

ANTENATAL/BREASTFEEDING CLASSES

Arrange/Go to your antenatal class if you have not already. Take a specific breastfeeding class if you plan on breastfeeding. Research collecting colostrum antenatally. Buy Multi-Mam balm/compresses to help keep your nipples intact during breastfeeding.

PACK YOUR HOSPITAL BAG

One bag for Mum & one for Baby. Do not forget to pack items such as earphones, earplugs & eye masks, in case you are admitted antenatally. And postnatally, snacks, a water bottle & Multi-Mam compresses will be much appreciated when the time comes.

PREPARE FOR BABY

Collect the car seat, buggy & any other large items you have bought, and ensure you know how to use them. If you have a car, fit the car seat into your car ahead of the birth. Arrange your baby’s sleep area, set up Moses basket/co-sleeper/crib & blankets.

BIRTH PLAN

Write a birth plan & discuss it with your birthing partner & care provider. Ensure you birth partner knows your wishes & will advocate for you. Know the signs of labour & when the right time to attend hospital or to call your midwife is. Also be aware of times that you must attend hospital immediately e.g. bleeding, waters breaking or severe pain. Plan your route to hospital. If you have other children, organise for ‘on call’ childcare for when you go into labour.

PREPARE FOR PARENTHOOD

Think about how your partner or others can support you in the early days of parenthood, practically & emotionally. Discuss how you might recognise if you are struggling or have postnatal depression, & who will support you if this happens.

ENJOY YOUR PREGNANCY

Try to get lots of rest and chillout time. Make the most of this special time. Try not to worry about when & how baby will arrive, it will happen. With preparation, support and an open mind, it will likely be a wonderful experience.
